Hey, y'all! I'm so tired...YAWN [insert M.J. crying meme]. Anyway, I can't shut my eyes or go back to studying for my exam in a few hours [YIKES] without giving you a multitude of reasons why you MUST support the #steevesamlive movement. I've been managing Steeve full-time since I left the Brooklyn Nets. Major FYI - don't think that means it's the only thing on my plate. In the midst of that, I also decided to begin this website, get my notary license, volunteer at the BRIC Media concert series, and begin real estate classes, all while trying to pinpoint my passion. Working with Steeve on the business side has truly brought me back to my "by any means necessary" attitude, the relentless Shanelle who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. It's the Shanelle who won those Drake tickets on POWER 105.1 back in 2010 after relentlessly calling and being caller #7, #98 and then finally #105 [see how 98+7=105? FATE], who got into NYU with an admissions essay rewritten an hour before the application was due [I'm such a perfectionist SMH] and no other applications out to ANY other schools, who somehow found a clean suit to get to the career fair to meet her soon-to-be first boss at the Brooklyn Nets despite having no electricity or running water during "Super Storm Sandy", and who somehow swindled Steeve into giving her his number back in 2012. I've missed this Shanelle so much, but I've realized that she's been here all along. Doing the time consuming work I did for so long, I realized that I was completely caught up in the matrix, the daily routine of trading in what you want to do for what you have to do for someone else in order to make money, passionate or not. In any event, I've been feeling her burning through my soul, piercing through my very existence to come to this very moment where I realize that I am the only thing in my own way and my big ass head has been blocking the view and vision of the future for far too long. Wait...this isn't about me. Well, it is. A little, anyway. You see, all of that passion has been thrown into the Steeve Sam LIVE branding. I didn't know shxt about website development. Yet, I made my website as a test, and then made his website [see for yourself here]. I never made a flyer before, but I finally bought a Mac, and now I'm making them left and right [ex: here]. I never booked a show before, didn't even know the e-mail etiquette. The next 6 shows including Saturday's: all yours truly [and of course Steeve's talent and charm too]. I say all that to say that nothing has been handed to us. You don't even know the half of the struggle, and you won't until we are laughing at our past while drinking some exotic beer on some exclusive island off the coast of some other exclusive island. The reality is this: NO ONE CARES. Let's face it: no one gives a shxt if you don't eat before you go on stage,or if you had something else to do why you didn't send out the e-mail marketing campaign. Just like ticket sales, all that matters is P.B.S., or Putting the Butts in the Seats. With that said, please bring your butt to these seats [well, it's a bar, so just bring yo a$$]! People complain all day about music not being the same. Rappers talking about garbage. BLAH BLAH f---'ing BLAH. But the reality is when shxt hits the fan, those same people will drop $350 on concert tickets for those same artists, then continue on complaining. Artists have bills too! They have families just like everyone else and need to support them or give back OR just simply pay their rent, buy something to eat, or take their girlfriend on a trip. These things can only be done through support. I'm so tired of attending events or having conversations with people who talk all this shxt about what needs to be done to change the plight of our people, then continue on not supporting the people they need to in order to actually make a difference. Every show you attend matters. Every reply matters. Every hat purchased matters. But, outside of monetary and physical support, just knowing that you are all understanding Steeve and I's messaging on being the change we all wish to see FOR REAL and spreading that light into and beyond your circle, that makes all the difference in the world. Just know that we notice every ounce of support, and we don't take ANY of it for granted. You could be anywhere else, so choosing to spend your time with us is a blessing and something we don't take lightly. The weather will be nice, finally. The Lower East Side will be LIT as always. Bring a friend and spend your Saturday elevating with us at Alphabet Lounge. There's a $10 cover. That's it. T E N. Just a $10 investment to support a movement of positivity, creativity, and enlightenment. See his live recording here for a quick taste. Show starts at 8:30 P.M. The more people at our shows, the more often we can book future gigs for you all to attend. It's all a circle. Come through and be the change you wish to see. That's all we can ask for. #elevationonly [insert melanated fist emoji].

Peace, Kings & Queens

xoxo
